MAY 24: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary paid a surprise visit to various government offices located at Sanat Ghar, Bemina, to assess the on-ground functioning of administrative services and the quality of public engagement.

During the unannounced inspection, the Deputy CM interacted with officials and staff members, emphasizing the need for punctuality, professional discipline, and a proactive approach toward public service delivery. Expressing concern over delays and inefficiencies in some departments, he directed the concerned officers to ensure that grievances are addressed swiftly and effectively.

Choudhary highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in administration, noting that real-time implementation of government schemes is essential for maintaining public trust. He stated that citizens must be able to see and feel the benefits of developmental programs without unnecessary delay or bureaucratic hurdles.

The Deputy CM also checked attendance registers and reviewed ongoing service-related work to get a clearer picture of departmental performance. He emphasized that each government functionary has a responsibility to serve the public with commitment and empathy. Any laxity or indifference, he warned, would not be tolerated under his watch.

He urged officials to adopt a people-first approach, ensuring that the delivery of welfare schemes and essential services is both time-bound and citizen-friendly. He also encouraged departments to maintain open lines of communication with the public, allowing for easier grievance submission and quicker resolution.

In his remarks, Choudhary stated, “Good governance is reflected in how efficiently and transparently services reach the last person. Every office should operate as a model of punctuality, accountability, and responsiveness.”

The visit served as a wake-up call for many departments to re-evaluate their operational standards and reinforce their commitment to public service. Citizens present at the site appreciated the Deputy CM’s initiative and hoped that such inspections would become a regular feature to keep the system responsive and alert.

This proactive engagement reflects the government’s increasing focus on performance-based administration and the delivery of real results at the grassroots level.
