JUNE 17: Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, chaired a high-level review meeting on June 15, 2025, at the Tobacco Board in Guntur to assess the ongoing development of NICDC-led industrial nodes across Andhra Pradesh. The meeting focused on accelerating the progress of three strategic nodes—Krishnapatnam, Orvakal, and Kopparthy—under different national industrial corridor projects.

These nodes fall under the Chennai–Bengaluru (Krishnapatnam), Hyderabad–Bengaluru (Orvakal), and Visakhapatnam–Chennai (Kopparthy) industrial corridors. Andhra Pradesh stands out as the only state in India hosting industrial nodes under three separate corridors, signaling its central role in India’s future industrial landscape.

Shri Goyal emphasized the importance of fostering innovation-driven growth within these nodes. He called for the creation of dedicated startup zones supported by incubators, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and subsidized facilities to encourage early-stage enterprises and anchor investors. He also highlighted the critical role of MSMEs in the industrial ecosystem and recommended allocating designated zones to support their growth.

To attract international investors, the Minister proposed organizing country-specific investment conclaves and forging global partnerships. He further directed the establishment of a centralized, real-time project monitoring dashboard to ensure transparency, timely execution, and accountability.

Reiterating the government’s vision, Shri Goyal referred to Andhra Pradesh as “Swarnandhra Pradesh,” symbolizing a future marked by inclusive, sustainable industrial development. He underscored the state’s potential to emerge as a manufacturing powerhouse.

Key attendees included Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani (MP, Guntur), Shri T.G. Bharath (Minister of State), Dr. N. Yuvaraj (AP Industries Minister), and Shri Rajat Kumar Saini (CEO & MD, NICDC), along with senior representatives from APIIC and APICDC. Presentations outlined the progress and strategy of each node and the broader industrial roadmap under the “Swarna Andhra 2047” vision.

Each node presents significant investment and employment potential:

  • Krishnapatnam: ₹10,500 crore, 1 lakh jobs

  • Orvakal: ₹12,000 crore, 45,000 jobs

  • Kopparthy: ₹8,800 crore, 54,000 jobs

These developments mark a decisive step toward building a globally competitive industrial ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh.
