Javed Rana Assures Action on Water Supply Concerns Raised by Arvind Gupta

JULY 23: Arvind Gupta, MLA from Jammu West, called on Javed Ahmed Rana, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, at the Civil Secretariat today. The meeting was primarily focused on addressing pressing water supply issues faced by residents in the Jammu West constituency.

During the discussion, MLA Gupta highlighted the persistent challenges related to inadequate water supply and stressed the need for timely intervention by the department. He informed the minister that many areas in his constituency are experiencing water shortages, especially during peak summer months, which has caused inconvenience to households and local businesses. Gupta requested the Jal Shakti Department to take immediate steps to improve the supply network, repair damaged pipelines, and ensure equitable distribution of water across all localities.

Gupta also emphasized the importance of long-term measures to enhance the water infrastructure in Jammu West. He proposed the implementation of modern water management techniques and the expansion of existing facilities to cater to the growing population. Furthermore, he underscored the need for better coordination between local authorities and state departments to ensure efficient grievance redressal and quick response to public complaints.

Minister Javed Ahmed Rana, while acknowledging the concerns raised by Gupta, assured prompt action on all issues discussed. He directed the concerned officials to assess the current water supply situation in Jammu West and initiate necessary steps to resolve the grievances at the earliest. Rana highlighted that the government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted and safe water supply for all citizens and is working on several projects to strengthen the water infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir.

The minister also encouraged MLA Gupta to continue sharing feedback and suggestions on public welfare issues, stating that collaboration between public representatives and government departments is crucial for effective governance. He reiterated the government’s focus on improving basic amenities like water, sanitation, and environment-related services for the people of the region.

Residents of Jammu West are hopeful that the meeting will lead to concrete steps towards resolving their water supply issues, reflecting the administration’s commitment to addressing local problems through active engagement and timely intervention.
