JULY 28: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, addressed the inaugural ceremony of the revered Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. The holy pilgrimage’s first batch will commence its journey from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar at 6 am on July 28.

Extending his heartfelt greetings to devotees, the Lieutenant Governor expressed gratitude to religious organizations such as Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Bajrang Dal, along with various departments involved in the arrangements. He warmly welcomed pilgrims from all corners of the country to pay homage to Lord Shiva at the sacred Budha Amarnath Ji Temple in Poonch, which holds immense spiritual and cultural significance.

Highlighting the collective efforts of the Divisional Commissioner, Tourism Department, District Administration, J&K Police, and other departments, the LG assured that meticulous arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, seamless, and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

The LG noted the overwhelming response to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, with over 3.77 lakh devotees having already paid obeisance at the holy cave. “We are united in our responsibility to preserve and promote our spiritual and cultural heritage,” he said.

Speaking on India’s deep-rooted cultural ethos, LG Sinha emphasized that our civilization has always championed the ideals of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’—the world as one family. He stressed the importance of passing on this rich legacy to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Paying homage to innocent civilians killed in Pahalgam by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists, the LG underlined the ongoing Operation Sindoor, stating that the security forces and police remain resolute in eliminating threats to peace.

The event was attended by spiritual leaders including Mahamandaleshwar Swami Rameshwar Das, along with senior functionaries of the VHP, Bajrang Dal, MLAs, civil and police officials, and thousands of enthusiastic pilgrims.
