AUG 10: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has hailed the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a shining example of the synergy and operational cohesion among the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Speaking at the 21st Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) at the College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, he shared strategic perspectives on Jointness and Integration in the Armed Forces, stressing their role in shaping the roadmap for future integrated operations.

As part of ongoing reforms, the CDS released the ‘Joint Primer for Integrated Logistics’, developed by CDM, calling logistics the “backbone of military operations.” The guide outlines digitisation, common provisioning, integrated procurement, and alignment with the national logistics framework, aimed at improving Tri-service coordination, efficiency, and organisational effectiveness.
Promoting sustainable practices, General Chauhan inaugurated a Smart Bike Public Bicycle Sharing Facility at CDM, in partnership with Smart Bike Mobility Pvt. Ltd., offering personnel access to eco-friendly e-bicycles and reducing the institution’s carbon footprint.
CDM Commandant Maj Gen Harsh Chhibber briefed on recent measures to strengthen professional military education, ensuring senior officers are equipped with modern management skills for strategic leadership roles.
The CDM, a premier Tri-service institution, is conducting its 44-week HDMC with 167 participants, including 12 officers from friendly nations—underlining India’s commitment to regional cooperation and military diplomacy.
General Chauhan concluded by reaffirming that joint capability, integrated logistics, and continuous reform are vital to ensuring the Armed Forces remain agile, well-equipped, and prepared to meet evolving national security challenges.
