In addition to financial aid, the DC has directed all line departments to expedite the restoration of basic services including water supply, electricity, healthcare facilities, and road connectivity in flood-affected areas. Special focus has been laid on repairing rural infrastructure, restoring educational institutions, and conducting safety audits of public buildings.
The District Administration has also kept buffer stocks of essential commodities, medicines, and drinking water ready to cater to any emergency needs that may arise as the region recovers from the recent spell of heavy rains. Further, the health department has been asked to maintain regular surveillance to prevent water-borne diseases in vulnerable localities.
Residents expressed gratitude to the administration for releasing the compensation swiftly, acknowledging that the relief will help them overcome immediate hardships.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas reaffirmed the government’s long-term vision of building resilient infrastructure and disaster-prepared communities, while also assuring continued support for those severely impacted by the floods.
