SEP 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a three-day visit from September 13 to 15, covering Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar. The tour will focus on inaugurating and launching infrastructure and development projects worth more than ₹71,850 crore, across sectors like railways, roadways, energy, education, healthcare, and rural development.
In Mizoram, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for projects worth over ₹9,000 crore, including the Bairabi-Sairang Rail Line—connecting the state capital Aizawl to the Indian Railways network for the first time. He will also flag off three new express trains and initiate major road infrastructure, LPG bottling plant, and education projects.
In Manipur, the PM will lay the foundation stone of urban roads, NH projects, and inaugurate civil infrastructure worth over ₹8,500 crore, including women’s markets, an IT SEZ, and Manipur Bhawans in Delhi and Kolkata.
On September 13, PM will visit Guwahati, Assam to attend the 100th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. On September 14, he will launch key projects worth ₹18,530 crore, including the Assam Bioethanol Plant and a Polypropylene Plant in Numaligarh, besides infrastructure upgrades in Darrang.
On September 15, the PM will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference in Kolkata, themed ‘Year of Reforms – Transforming for the Future’.
Later that day in Bihar, PM will launch the National Makhana Board, inaugurate the new terminal at Purnea Airport, and unveil projects worth ₹36,000 crore. Major initiatives include a 3×800 MW thermal power plant in Bhagalpur, Kosi-Mechi River Link, multiple rail projects, new trains, and the Sex Sorted Semen Facility in Purnea. He will also participate in PMAY Griha Pravesh ceremonies and release ₹500 crore in Community Investment Funds.
This extensive tour highlights the government’s push towards connectivity, energy security, agricultural growth, education, and regional empowerment across Eastern and Northeastern India.
