CM Omar Abdullah Lauds Travel Agents’ Role in J&K Tourism at TAAK Meet

SEP 19: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed the Annual General Meeting of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) today in the scenic town of Gulmarg. He was joined by Advisor to the CM, Nasir Sogami, and MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah, both of whom also interacted with tourism stakeholders.

In his address, the Chief Minister expressed appreciation for the invaluable contribution of travel agents in promoting Jammu and Kashmir as a premier tourist destination. He acknowledged their role as vital partners in reviving and sustaining the tourism economy of the region, especially during challenging times.

Omar Abdullah reassured the gathering that the government is fully committed to supporting and strengthening the tourism sector. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between the administration and private players to enhance infrastructure, improve services, and ensure a seamless experience for tourists.

The CM also highlighted Gulmarg’s significance as a year-round tourist hub and reiterated the government’s intention to develop and diversify tourism offerings across the Union Territory.

The event marked a constructive dialogue between policymakers and industry professionals, reinforcing the importance of sustained partnerships in driving Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism forward.
