PM Modi’s Visit to Focus on Green Energy, Connectivity, and Heritage Tourism in Northeast

SEP 21:On September 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, where he will launch multiple development initiatives focused on infrastructure, clean energy, connectivity, and cultural preservation, with a total project value exceeding ₹5,100 crore.

In Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two major hydropower projects – the Heo Hydro Electric Project (240 MW) and the Tato-I Hydro Electric Project (186 MW), both located in the Siyom sub-basin. These projects, worth over ₹3,700 crore, aim to harness the state’s vast hydroelectric potential while promoting sustainable energy generation.

Additionally, PM Modi will launch various infrastructure projects worth ₹1,290 crore in sectors such as health, connectivity, fire safety, and working women hostels. These projects are expected to significantly improve the quality of life in the region and stimulate economic activity.

A major highlight will be the laying of the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Convention Centre in Tawang, situated at over 9,800 feet. Designed to international standards, it will accommodate over 1,500 delegates and host conferences, exhibitions, and cultural events, boosting tourism and local economy.

The Prime Minister will also interact with taxpayers, traders, and industrialists to discuss the impact of recent GST reforms, reinforcing his commitment to ease of doing business.

Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Tripura, where he will perform Pooja and Darshan at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Gomati district, and inaugurate its newly developed complex under the PRASAD scheme.

The upgraded temple complex, shaped like a tortoise when viewed from above, includes a meditation hall, guest accommodations, office rooms, improved pathways, and drainage systems. This initiative is expected to boost tourism, generate employment, and drive socio-economic development in the region.
