OCT 03: To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organized multiple Skill Development Training Programmes (SDTPs) across various districts of Jammu & Kashmir today.
The events were attended by Rajesh Kumar, Director KVIC J&K and Ladakh, and Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal PMTC KVIC, Pampore. The programmes began with a floral tributes ceremony to Mahatma Gandhi, followed by the Khadi Pledge as part of the ongoing Khadi Mahotsav, celebrated from September 17 to October 23, 2025.
Speaking at the occasion, Anil Kumar Sharma highlighted the diverse skill development initiatives conducted across the UT, stressing their importance in empowering youth and promoting self-employment.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Kumar expressed gratitude to Mahatma Gandhi for his enduring legacy and encouraged participants to stay motivated and continue learning new skills vital for personal growth and national development.
Several participants shared their experiences, describing how the training programmes have helped them acquire valuable skills and opened new opportunities for livelihood and entrepreneurship.
