OCT 08:Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, Asia’s largest telecom and technology event, in New Delhi. Highlighting India’s rapid digital transformation, he said the nation’s telecom success — with a sixfold rise in electronics output and a 28-fold increase in mobile manufacturing since 2014 — reflects the strength of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
PM Modi praised India’s innovation in quantum communication, 6G, and cybersecurity, noting that the Telecom Technology Development Fund has been pivotal in supporting startups. He emphasized the government’s focus on cyber safety and faster telecom expansion under the new Telecommunications Act.
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, inaugurating the International 6G Symposium 2025, said India has moved from being a “consumer” to a co-architect of global technology. He projected that 6G could add $1.2 trillion to India’s GDP by 2035 and highlighted the nation’s target to secure 10% of global 6G patents.
At the event, the Bharat 6G Alliance signed MoUs with NASSCOM and the European Space Agency and released four whitepapers on next-gen telecom and 6G frameworks. Over 400 exhibitors are participating in IMC 2025, showcasing India’s innovation across telecom, AI, and semiconductor domains.
Themed “Innovate to Transform”, IMC 2025 reaffirms India’s vision to build a secure, inclusive, and future-ready digital ecosystem, setting the stage for global 6G leadership.
