OCT 17:Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary reiterated the Omar Abdullah-led government’s unwavering commitment to people-centric governance and inclusive development, as the administration completes one year in office. During his visit to Anantnag and Kulgam districts, the Deputy CM laid the foundation stones for developmental projects worth ₹9 crore, aimed at boosting infrastructure, connectivity, and local welfare in South Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Surinder Choudhary said the government under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is dedicated to translating its promises into action and fulfilling the aspirations of every section of society. He highlighted that the administration’s focus remains on balanced regional development, creation of livelihood opportunities, and strengthening the foundations of peace and communal harmony.
The Deputy CM also reviewed the ongoing works at KP Colony Vessu Transit Accommodation, emphasizing timely completion and quality assurance to ensure dignified housing for Kashmiri Pandit families. He directed officials to accelerate project timelines while maintaining transparency and adherence to standards.
Choudhary underlined that development in Jammu and Kashmir is being guided by the principles of equity, inclusion, and transparency, with a strong focus on rural empowerment, youth engagement, and women’s participation in the growth process. He also lauded the resilience and unity of the people of South Kashmir, noting that peace and progress are interlinked pillars of the government’s long-term vision for the Union Territory.
The projects inaugurated in Anantnag and Kulgam are expected to enhance local infrastructure, improve public amenities, and strengthen the developmental ecosystem in these districts. The visit also reflected the government’s broader resolve to maintain communal harmony and participatory governance, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
