NOV 02: The first-ever Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon 2025 (SIM-25) concluded on a grand and inspiring note, bringing together citizens from across the nation in a collective celebration of fitness, valour, and national pride.
Held in New Delhi, the marathon witnessed an impressive turnout of over 12,000 participants at the main venue, including men, women, and children of all age groups. Simultaneously, more than 45,000 runners from 46 Air Force Stations across India participated in 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km categories, embodying the unity, enthusiasm, and spirit of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The event was graced by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, alongside senior IAF officers and distinguished guests. Demonstrating his own dedication to fitness, Air Chief Marshal Singh participated in the 21 km run, inspiring air warriors and civilians alike.
The marathon began with a high-energy Zumba session, followed by enthralling performances by the IAF Band, a synchronized drill by the Air Warrior Drill Team, and an awe-inspiring skydiving display, perfectly reflecting the discipline and dynamism of the Force.
Adding a cultural dimension, Netflix joined the event, featuring popular actors Huma Qureshi, Shefali Shah, Archana Puran Singh, and Sunil Grover, and unveiled the teaser of Operation Safed Sagar — a series paying tribute to the IAF’s courage during the Kargil War.
Dedicated to Param Vir Chakra awardee Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, SIM-25 stood as a heartfelt homage to his unmatched bravery, inspiring the nation to uphold the IAF’s core values of courage, unity, and excellence.
