NOV 13: Three key members of India’s ICC Women’s World Cup 2025–winning team — batter Pratika Rawal, bowler Renuka Singh Thakur, and all-rounder Sneh Rana — met Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, at Rail Bhawan today.
All three athletes, proud employees of Indian Railways, played crucial roles in India’s historic World Cup victory. The Minister congratulated them for their stellar performances and commended Indian Railways’ ongoing commitment to nurturing sporting excellence.
Pratika Rawal, an opening batter from Delhi representing the Northern Railway (Delhi Division), joined Railways in 2023 and recently earned promotion to Senior Clerk. Despite an injury during the tournament, she inspired her team with her resilience and tactical acumen.
Renuka Singh Thakur, a right-arm medium pacer from Himachal Pradesh, representing the Ambala Division, has been with Railways since 2020. Her three key wickets in the World Cup were instrumental in India’s success and earned her recognition in her home state.
Sneh Rana, an experienced all-rounder from Uttarakhand and part of the Moradabad Division, joined Railways in 2018. With seven wickets and crucial middle-order runs, she proved invaluable in India’s campaign.
Indian Railways, through the Railway Sports Promotion Board, continues to identify and empower sporting talent from across the nation by providing world-class training, stable employment, and opportunities for international success.
