NOV 27: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary addressed a major camp of the “Aapka Paisa, Aapka Adhikar” (Your Money, Your Right) campaign in New Delhi today. The initiative aims to help citizens identify and reclaim unclaimed deposits, policies, shares, dividends and other financial assets.

Smt. Gupta noted that India’s banking system has earned people’s trust for decades and has been further strengthened through the government’s push for digitisation. She highlighted that since 2014, digital financial services have transformed the way Indians transact and manage money. Extending this progress, she said the government is now committed to ensuring that citizens’ unclaimed assets are returned to them through a simplified digital process. She urged Delhi residents to visit the camps and check details of bank accounts, fixed deposits, insurance policies and investments. She added that around ₹850 million has already been returned to rightful owners.

MoS Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said the campaign reflects the government’s belief that public trust and public service are central to nation-building. He reiterated that the goal is to cover every district between October and December so that no citizen is denied access to their old financial assets. He also highlighted India’s progress in financial inclusion through schemes such as PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, PMMY and PM SVANidhi.

DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju shared that over ₹18.87 billion has been returned within two months. With district-level camps already held across 272 districts and more underway, he emphasised the need for greater participation in Delhi, where a large sum under the DEA Fund remains unclaimed.
