Security Review Meeting

JAN 10 : In a strong reaffirmation of the Government of India’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir, a high-level security review meeting was chaired to assess the prevailing security scenario in the Union Territory. The meeting was held in the presence of Lt. Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, senior civil administration officials, and top leadership of security and intelligence agencies operating in the region.

During the comprehensive review, the leadership commended the security forces and intelligence agencies for their sustained and coordinated efforts in crippling the terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting acknowledged that decisive action against terrorist networks, their support systems, and financing channels has significantly weakened the operational capabilities of terror outfits active in the region.

The chair noted that the gains achieved on the security front are the result of mission-oriented counterterror strategies, seamless coordination among agencies, and actionable intelligence-based operations. These efforts, it was observed, are aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of establishing lasting peace, normalcy, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reiterating the government’s resolve, it was clearly stated that counterterror operations aimed at demolishing terrorist infrastructure and choking terror financing will continue in mission mode. The leadership underlined that there would be zero tolerance for terrorism and its enablers, whether operating from within or across the border.

The meeting reviewed recent operational successes, including the neutralisation of terrorists, disruption of recruitment modules, seizure of arms and explosives, and decisive action against overground workers and financial conduits. Special emphasis was laid on sustained vigilance, enhanced surveillance, and proactive measures to prevent any attempt at reviving terror networks.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, while interacting with officials, stressed the importance of maintaining a people-centric security approach, ensuring that peace dividends reach citizens at the grassroots level. He highlighted that improved security conditions have enabled better delivery of governance, economic activity, tourism revival, and youth engagement across the Union Territory.

The review also focused on strengthening border security, hinterland intelligence, and cyber monitoring to counter emerging and hybrid threats. Officials were directed to further enhance inter-agency coordination and leverage technology to stay ahead of adversarial tactics.

It was emphasized that the security strategy in Jammu and Kashmir is not merely reactive, but preventive and forward-looking, aimed at permanently dismantling the terror ecosystem rather than allowing it to regenerate. The leadership expressed confidence that sustained pressure on terror financing and logistics networks will further consolidate peace.

Concluding the meeting, the chair reaffirmed that the government remains fully committed to protecting the lives of citizens, safeguarding national security, and ensuring a peaceful future for Jammu and Kashmir. The continued mission-mode operations, backed by strong political will and professional security forces, were described as key to achieving long-term stability and development in the region.

The security review underscored a clear message: terrorism will find no space in Jammu and Kashmir, and the path forward will be guided by peace, rule of law, and inclusive growth
