JAMMU, March 24: Jammu is set to witness a major boost in tourism with the upcoming opening of its largest tulip garden in the scenic Sanasar Valley. Officials have confirmed that the garden will be opened to the public within the next few days, showcasing a vibrant display of spring blooms.
Developed by the Floriculture Department, the tulip garden is expected to emerge as a key attraction in the region, drawing tourists and nature enthusiasts alike.
Over 2 Lakh Tulips Across 25 Varieties
According to officials, the garden features more than 2 lakh tulip flowers planted across a sprawling 35 kanal area, representing around 25 different varieties.
The large-scale plantation is expected to offer a visually stunning experience for visitors, with colourful floral patterns spread across the landscape.
Modern Facilities to Enhance Visitor Experience
Authorities have also introduced new features to improve the overall visitor experience. These include a centrally located fountain, enhanced lighting arrangements, and an e-ticketing system to streamline entry and manage tourist flow.
Officials anticipate a significant increase in tourist footfall this season, especially as the garden nears full bloom in the coming days.
Boost to Tourism in Jammu Region
The development of the tulip garden in Sanasar is part of broader efforts to promote tourism beyond traditional destinations. Known for its picturesque meadows and serene environment, Sanasar Valley is already a popular getaway near Patnitop.
The addition of a large tulip garden is expected to further enhance its appeal, particularly during the spring season when flowers are in full bloom.
Complementing Kashmir’s Floral Attractions
The initiative also complements the famous Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden in Srinagar, which is recognized as Asia’s largest tulip garden and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
By developing a similar attraction in the Jammu region, authorities aim to create a balanced tourism circuit across the Union Territory.
Expected to Draw Large Footfall
Officials remain optimistic that the garden will witness strong tourist turnout this year, supported by improved infrastructure and growing interest in floral tourism.
With its scenic location, diverse flower varieties, and enhanced facilities, the Sanasar tulip garden is poised to become one of Jammu’s prominent seasonal attractions.
