7 May, 2026: In a major military operation, India carried out Operation Sindoor, targeting and destroying multiple terror camps across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and areas deep inside Pakistan. The coordinated operation also reportedly involved strikes on several key airbases, marking one of the most significant cross-border military actions in recent years.
According to official sources, the operation was launched in response to terrorist attacks against India, including the recent attack in Pahalgam. Indian armed forces stated that the strikes specifically targeted terror infrastructure and networks allegedly involved in planning and supporting attacks against Indian interests.
The operation reportedly lasted around 22 minutes, during which the Indian military executed precision strikes on nine terror camps and multiple strategic locations. Reports indicate that major airbases, including Nur Khan and Sargodha, were among the sites targeted during the mission.
Officials described the operation as a highly coordinated effort involving the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy. Advanced platforms, including Rafale fighter aircraft and AI-enabled systems, were reportedly used to ensure precision and operational efficiency.
Defence experts noted that the operation demonstrated India’s growing military capabilities, particularly in terms of joint-force coordination, intelligence integration, and precision targeting. The use of advanced strike systems and real-time monitoring tools highlighted the increasing role of technology in modern warfare.
Authorities emphasized that the strikes were aimed at neutralizing terror threats and dismantling support infrastructure linked to cross-border militancy. Officials maintained that the action was focused on safeguarding national security and preventing future attacks.
The developments have drawn significant attention internationally, with analysts closely monitoring the regional security implications. Experts believe that such operations underline the evolving nature of India’s counter-terror strategy and its emphasis on rapid, intelligence-driven responses.
While tensions in the region remain high, the government has reiterated its commitment to protecting national interests and responding firmly to security threats.
Operation Sindoor is being viewed as a major demonstration of India’s military preparedness and strategic capability, reinforcing its resolve against terrorism and cross-border threats.
