5 June: In a move aimed at accelerating local infrastructure development, Dr. Bharat Bhushan has released ₹1 crore from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for various public welfare and infrastructure projects across the Kathua constituency.
The funding is expected to support a range of development initiatives in both rural and urban areas, with a focus on improving civic amenities and addressing local infrastructure needs.
Speaking about the allocation, the MLA said that significant progress has already been achieved through projects sanctioned during the previous financial cycle. According to him, most of the works approved last year have been completed successfully, while the remaining projects are nearing completion.
The completed works include the construction and improvement of roads, drainage systems, borewells, culverts, and flood protection measures. These projects were undertaken to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents across different parts of the constituency.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan stated that the newly released funds will be utilized for development works identified on the basis of local requirements and public demand. The objective is to ensure balanced growth across villages, towns, and urban localities within the constituency.
He emphasized that development remains a continuous process and requires consistent investment in public infrastructure. The latest allocation, he said, will complement ongoing projects being executed by various government departments and agencies.
Local development funds play an important role in addressing area-specific needs that may require immediate attention. Such allocations often help improve connectivity, public utilities, water availability, and other essential services at the grassroots level.
The MLA noted that efforts are being made to ensure that development benefits reach all sections of society and contribute to the overall progress of the constituency. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening infrastructure and supporting initiatives that improve public convenience and community welfare.
Residents and local representatives have welcomed the release of funds, expressing hope that the new projects will further enhance civic amenities and address pending infrastructure requirements in different areas.
Officials indicated that the proposed works would be taken up in a phased manner, with priority given to projects that have a direct impact on public welfare and local development.
Observers believe that continued investment in infrastructure can contribute to better living standards, improved connectivity, and stronger economic activity at the local level.
With a combination of constituency-funded initiatives and departmental projects, Kathua is expected to witness further development in the coming months, particularly in sectors related to public infrastructure and basic services.
The latest allocation reflects an ongoing effort to ensure that development remains inclusive, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of local communities.
