22 June: NEW DELHI: Indian Railways has approved the deployment of the Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system across key routes of the East Coast Railway, marking another significant step toward enhancing railway safety and modernizing train operations in the country.
The decision is part of Indian Railways’ broader strategy to improve operational safety through the adoption of advanced indigenous technologies. Kavach, an indigenously developed train protection system, is designed to help prevent collisions, improve signal compliance, and enhance overall safety across the railway network.
