Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir:
The Directorate of Tourism Jammu and Kashmir, in collaboration with the District Administration Kathua and the Billawar-Duggan Development Authority, is set to host the vibrant Baisakhi Utsav 2026 at Kali Mata Temple Ground today at 4 PM.
The festival aims to showcase the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the region while boosting tourism in the Billawar area. Baisakhi, one of the most significant harvest festivals in North India, is celebrated with great enthusiasm and reflects the spirit of prosperity and community bonding.
Officials stated that the event will feature cultural performances, traditional music, and local art forms, providing a platform for artists and performers to highlight the region’s diverse heritage. The festival is expected to attract a large number of locals as well as visitors from nearby areas.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote tourism in lesser-explored destinations of Jammu & Kashmir and encourage cultural engagement at the grassroots level. Authorities believe that such events not only celebrate tradition but also contribute to the local economy by drawing visitors and supporting small businesses.
