OCT 13:Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a significant boost in its developmental agenda as Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo chaired a high-level High-Powered Committee (HPC) meeting to review the status of ongoing NABARD and RIDF projects across the Union Territory. The meeting focused on ensuring timely completion of existing works and maximizing the developmental benefits of all ongoing initiatives.
During the session, Chief Secretary Dulloo stressed the importance of efficient project execution, highlighting that delays in implementation can reduce the socio-economic impact of critical infrastructure projects. He reviewed the progress of multiple NABARD and RIDF-funded works, ranging from irrigation schemes, rural roads, water supply systems, to other community-centric projects, urging officials to adhere strictly to timelines and quality standards.
In addition to reviewing ongoing projects, the HPC approved a set of new projects under RIDF XXXI for the fiscal year 2025-26, aimed at further accelerating growth in key sectors. The Chief Secretary emphasized that these projects have been selected to deliver the maximum developmental impact, ensuring that funds are effectively utilized to improve infrastructure, enhance livelihoods, and strengthen rural and urban connectivity.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of inter-departmental coordination, close monitoring, and proactive problem-solving to address bottlenecks in project execution. Officials were directed to submit periodic progress reports and ensure compliance with all regulatory and financial guidelines.
Chief Secretary Dulloo reiterated that the administration remains committed to achieving a transformative developmental agenda for J&K. By efficiently implementing NABARD and RIDF initiatives, the Union Territory aims to provide improved infrastructure, boost employment, and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
The approval of new RIDF projects coupled with the accelerated completion of ongoing works signals a decisive step towards sustainable development and inclusive growth in Jammu and Kashmir.
