DC Harvinder Singh Leads District-Wide Outreach to Strengthen Last-Mile Service Delivery

DEC 24 : The district administration has continued its proactive grassroots outreach under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh (IAS), reinforcing the government’s commitment to citizen-centric governance. The ongoing initiative, being carried out under the flagship programme “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore”, aims to bring governance directly to the doorsteps of people by strengthening last-mile service delivery.

As part of the district-wide outreach, a series of grievance redressal camps were organised to provide residents with a direct interface with the administration. These camps enabled people to raise issues related to essential services such as revenue matters, social welfare benefits, public utilities, healthcare and other civic concerns. Officers from concerned departments were present on-site to listen to grievances and initiate immediate remedial action wherever possible, ensuring timely and transparent redressal.

In addition to grievance redressal, the outreach programme focused strongly on creating awareness about flagship government schemes. Officials interacted with citizens to explain the objectives, eligibility criteria and benefits of various welfare and development initiatives. This effort was aimed at ensuring that deserving beneficiaries are well-informed and able to access government schemes without procedural hurdles or delays.

A major highlight of the outreach was the organisation of a Mega Health Camp, which benefited over 300 people from different parts of the district. The camp offered free medical consultations, basic health check-ups and guidance on preventive healthcare. Special attention was given to vulnerable groups, including elderly persons, women and children, reinforcing the administration’s focus on inclusive and accessible healthcare services.

Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh emphasised that programmes like Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore are crucial for bridging the gap between the administration and the public. He stressed that effective governance is achieved not only through policy-making but also through direct engagement with citizens and timely delivery of services at the grassroots level. Officers were directed to ensure follow-up on issues raised during the camps and to maintain accountability in service delivery.

The district-wide outreach initiative has been well received by the public, with residents appreciating the administration’s effort to reach remote and underserved areas. By integrating grievance redressal, scheme awareness and healthcare services, the programme has emerged as a comprehensive model for strengthening last-mile governance.

With continued implementation across the district, Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore is expected to further enhance public trust, improve access to government services and ensure that development benefits reach every section of society in a transparent and efficient manner.
