JUNE 24: A high-level review meeting of Mission YUVA—the Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s flagship youth entrepreneurship initiative—was convened today at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Surinder Choudhary, and brought together senior officials, stakeholders, and departmental representatives involved in youth development and entrepreneurship promotion.

During the session, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the critical role of timely handholding, awareness generation at the grassroots level, and institutional convergence in realizing the full scope of youth-driven development. He underscored that effective implementation of Mission YUVA requires proactive coordination between skilling institutions, digital platforms, and financial ecosystems.

Shri Choudhary noted that the aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth must be supported through structured interventions aimed at building capacities, enhancing digital literacy, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. “Youth are the cornerstone of Jammu and Kashmir’s future. By equipping them with the right tools, training, and entrepreneurial frameworks, we can drive inclusive growth and lasting peace,” he stated.

The Deputy CM directed the concerned departments to intensify awareness campaigns at the panchayat and block levels, ensuring that every eligible youth is informed about available schemes and support mechanisms under Mission YUVA. He also advocated for seamless integration with national skilling programs and digital entrepreneurship tools to expand the reach and impact of the initiative.

Officials briefed the Deputy CM on current progress, challenges, and key success stories emerging from the program’s initial phases. Special attention was given to capacity-building programs, startup support services, and mentoring platforms already in place.

The meeting concluded with a strong message of collaboration and urgency, urging all stakeholders to work with renewed energy to empower youth across the Union Territory. The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to creating a robust ecosystem that fosters innovation, employment, and self-reliance among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
