OCT 31: Union Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, reviewed the cleanliness activities carried out at Sanchar Bhawan, New Delhi, as part of the Special Campaign 5.0 on Swachhata.

During his visit, Dr. Pemmasani inspected various sections of the building, including corridors, work areas, and the Departmental Library, and interacted with officials and staff. He appreciated the Department’s sustained efforts to maintain hygiene, promote a clutter-free environment, and enhance workplace efficiency.

Emphasizing the importance of cleanliness as a daily practice, Dr. Pemmasani stated that it should not be viewed as a one-time activity. A clean environment, he said, fosters better health, clearer thinking, and higher productivity. He highlighted that short, regular cleanliness drives help nurture self-discipline and create a more positive and motivated workforce.

The Minister reiterated that Swachhata is not merely a campaign but a commitment to realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a clean and developed India by 2047. He urged officials to sustain these efforts beyond the campaign period, ensuring cleanliness becomes an integral part of the organizational culture.

Dr. Pemmasani expressed satisfaction with the Department’s proactive participation and praised the collective contribution of officers and staff.

Launched on 15th September 2025, Special Campaign 5.0 concluded today after extensive activities across the Department of Telecommunications and its field units, including LSAs, CCAs, and PSUs. The campaign focused on cleanliness, space management, record digitization, and e-waste disposal, resulting in visible improvements in office efficiency and hygiene standards.
