JUNE 24: Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, addressed a high-impact Mega Job Fair organized by Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Desh Bhagat University, Punjab. The event witnessed the participation of several reputed national companies, offering valuable employment opportunities to the youth of the Union Territory.

In his address, LG Sinha commended the efforts of the organizing institutions for bridging the gap between job seekers and leading employers. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in creating a robust employment ecosystem and enhancing career prospects for young graduates, particularly in regions like Jammu and Kashmir where skill development and job creation remain top priorities for the administration.

The Job Fair attracted hundreds of students and fresh graduates from various educational institutions across the region. Participants had the opportunity to interact directly with recruiters from multiple sectors including IT, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and finance. Several candidates were shortlisted and offered on-the-spot employment letters, making the event a milestone in the youth engagement strategy of the UT Government.

LG Sinha underlined that the government is committed to supporting initiatives that foster employability, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. He further stated that the participation of leading national companies in this fair is a testimony to the emerging talent pool in Jammu and Kashmir and the improving business environment in the region.

He also praised the collaborative efforts between academic institutions and industry partners, encouraging universities to continue aligning education with market demands. Such synergies, he said, are essential to preparing students for real-world challenges and ensuring their smooth transition into the workforce.

LG Sinha reiterated the UT Government’s focus on youth empowerment through vocational training, digital literacy, and large-scale skill development programs. He assured that more such events will be supported and facilitated across the Union Territory to ensure inclusive growth and opportunities for all.

The Mega Job Fair not only brought employment opportunities to the doorstep of local students but also reinforced the message that Jammu and Kashmir is on a fast track toward economic transformation through education, innovation, and job creation.
