NOV 30:Vice-President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan attended the Akhil Bhartiya Devsthanam Sammelan as the Chief Guest during the International Gita Mahotsav 2025 in Kurukshetra, Haryana—an event that celebrates India’s spiritual, cultural, and civilisational heritage. Addressing the gathering, he expressed deep reverence for Kurukshetra, a land sanctified by centuries of tradition and revered as the place where Lord Krishna imparted the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. He described it as a living symbol of the ultimate triumph of dharma over adharma.

The Vice-President emphasised that the Bhagavad Gita is not merely a religious text but a universal guide for righteous living, enlightened consciousness, and purposeful action. He highlighted Lord Krishna’s core message of performing one’s duty with clarity, dedication, and adherence to dharma, noting that such principles hold even greater relevance today, when societies face rapid technological and social transformation.

In his address, Shri Radhakrishnan underscored the importance of character-building, stressing that moral strength surpasses material wealth or worldly success. The Gita, he said, teaches humanity to develop inner discipline, virtue, and fearlessness—qualities essential for navigating modern challenges while upholding ethical values.

He spoke appreciatively of how Gita Jayanti has grown into a global spiritual celebration over the past nine years, promoting India’s timeless teachings across borders. Congratulating the Haryana Government and Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, he acknowledged their efforts in promoting the Mahotsav and driving the state toward progress and cultural prominence.

The Vice-President noted that the International Gita Mahotsav beautifully presents the values of Sanatan Dharma, the divine virtues of Lord Krishna, and the message of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in a way that resonates with young and old alike. These values—dharma, duty, excellence, and self-discipline—form the ideological foundation of the national vision for an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat @2047.

He also praised the Kurukshetra Development Board and the Gita Knowledge Institute for bringing together scholars, saints, technologists, artists, and cultural leaders to engage in deep dialogue and inspire younger generations. Concluding his address, the Vice-President urged everyone to internalise the Gita’s teachings—acting with righteousness, seeking knowledge, embracing peace, and working for the welfare of all.

Earlier, he also visited the Maa Bhadrakali Shaktipeeth Temple and offered prayers.
