JULY 17: In a heartfelt ceremony held at Government Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah unveiled the statue of Late Principal Kuldeep Kumar Badyal, who laid down his life in the line of duty. The event marked a solemn tribute to an educator remembered not only for his academic contributions but for his unmatched commitment to service.
Calling Principal Badyal a symbol of integrity and courage, the Chief Minister announced that the school will now be renamed in his honour—a decision met with emotional gratitude from the community and the martyr’s family.
“Late Principal Badyal’s life stands as a shining example for students and citizens alike,” the CM said. “His dedication, even in the face of grave danger, represents the highest values of public service. It is our responsibility to ensure that his sacrifice is remembered and emulated.”
The ceremony was attended by members of the late principal’s family, elected legislators, and senior government officials, who all paid homage to a man whose life was devoted to education and public good.
