DEC 24: In a significant gesture of social responsibility and community support, Green Model Higher Secondary School (HSS), Doda, donated an amount of ₹1 lakh to the Indian Red Cross Society, Doda. The contribution was formally handed over in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Doda and Chairman, Red Cross Society, Harvinder Singh (IAS).
The donation is expected to provide a meaningful boost to the humanitarian and welfare activities undertaken by the Red Cross Society in the district. These activities include disaster relief, medical assistance, support to vulnerable sections of society, and emergency response during natural or man-made crises.
Appreciating the initiative, DC Doda Harvinder Singh commended Green Model HSS for setting an example of institutional responsibility and compassion. He stated that contributions from educational institutions play a crucial role in strengthening community-based welfare efforts and nurturing a culture of empathy and service among students.
The Deputy Commissioner highlighted that the Indian Red Cross Society has been consistently working at the grassroots level to provide relief and assistance to those in need. Financial support from local institutions, he said, enhances the organisation’s capacity to respond effectively to emergencies and extend help to the most vulnerable populations in the district.
