4 june: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for several parts of Kerala and Mahe, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall as monsoon activity intensifies over the region.
According to weather officials, favourable atmospheric conditions are likely to trigger widespread rainfall across Kerala and Mahe over the coming days. The orange alert indicates the possibility of significant rainfall that could lead to waterlogging, localized flooding, and disruptions to transportation and daily activities.
The IMD has advised residents, fishermen, local authorities, and disaster management agencies to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions in areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides.
