Jammu The Government of Jammu and Kashmir is accelerating efforts to build a robust digital ecosystem, aiming to transform governance, empower youth, and create new avenues for innovation and entrepreneurship across the Union Territory.
Highlighting this vision, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, IT, Transport, Youth Services & Sports, and Science & Technology Satish Sharma said that the administration is actively strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding access to technology-driven services. He noted that improved connectivity and e-governance initiatives are key to ensuring transparency, efficiency, and inclusive development.

The evolving digital landscape is also reshaping sectors like sports. Sahil Aggarwal, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Padel Association, was also present at the event.
Echoing the role of technology in sports development, international badminton star Saina Nehwal has often emphasized how data analytics, digital coaching tools, and performance tracking systems are revolutionising athlete preparation and competitive success. Such advancements hold immense potential for young athletes in J&K.

Amid this broader push for innovation and youth engagement, the India’s International Movement to United Nations (IIMUN) Jammu Conference has emerged as a significant platform for nurturing leadership and global awareness among students. The conference brings together young minds to engage in discussions on international issues, diplomacy, and policymaking, reflecting the growing emphasis on youth-led development.
Participants at the IIMUN Jammu Conference engage in simulations of United Nations committees, debate pressing global challenges, and develop skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and negotiation. Such initiatives complement the government’s digital vision by preparing a generation that is not only tech-savvy but also globally aware and socially responsible.
Experts believe that the convergence of digital transformation and youth-focused platforms like IIMUN can create a powerful ecosystem for progress. By combining technological access with intellectual engagement, Jammu and Kashmir is poised to foster a new wave of innovation and leadership.

However, stakeholders underline the importance of continued investment in digital literacy, infrastructure, and skill development to ensure that the benefits of this transformation reach every section of society.
As Jammu and Kashmir advances on its path of digital growth, initiatives like the IIMUN Jammu Conference underline the importance of empowering youth to become active participants in shaping the future both locally and globally.
