Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary reviewed the functioning of the Skill Development Department, with a focus on strengthening skill development initiatives, improving training infrastructure and creating more employment opportunities for the youth of the Union Territory.

The review meeting was attended by MLA Gulabgarh Er. Khurshied Ahmed, who participated in discussions concerning the development and improvement of skill training programmes across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the meeting, emphasis was laid on making skill development initiatives more effective, accessible and aligned with the evolving employment requirements. Strengthening existing programmes and upgrading training facilities were identified as important steps towards equipping young people with relevant skills and improving their prospects in the job market.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s review comes amid the broader focus on strengthening the skill development ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission aims to connect trained and semi-skilled youth with suitable employment opportunities by coordinating various training initiatives and improving access to market-oriented skills.
