Jal Shakti and Agriculture Ministers Push for Speedy Implementation of Key Projects in Baramulla

OCT 10:In a significant step toward accelerating development across North Kashmir, Minister for Jal Shakti, Forests, Ecology & Tribal Affairs, Mr. Javed Rana, and Minister for Agriculture Production & Rural Development, Mr. Javid Dar, jointly reviewed the progress of key infrastructure and welfare projects in Baramulla, Sopore, and Rafiabad.

The review meeting brought together senior officers from various departments including Jal Shakti, Forest, Agriculture, and Rural Development, who presented detailed progress reports on ongoing schemes and the challenges faced in their execution.

Minister Javed Rana emphasized the importance of ensuring timely completion of water supply schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission to meet the drinking water needs of rural and tribal populations. He directed the concerned officers to remove all bottlenecks and expedite pending works, particularly in remote and hilly areas. Rana also reviewed issues related to forest clearances and stressed the need for coordinated efforts between departments to avoid unnecessary project delays.

Minister Javid Dar, on his part, highlighted the government’s focus on agriculture modernization, rural infrastructure, and tribal welfare. He underscored the need to strengthen farmers’ outreach through awareness programs, skill development, and access to credit and technology. Dar called for the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes to uplift rural livelihoods and ensure inclusive growth across all sectors.

Both ministers reiterated that development in Jammu and Kashmir must be environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive, aligning with the larger goals of the government’s Viksit Bharat vision. They assured that all genuine grievances raised by local representatives and citizens will be addressed promptly through inter-departmental coordination.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to accelerate progress in water, forest, and agriculture projects while ensuring that the benefits reach every household, particularly in marginalized and tribal communities of North Kashmir.
