OCT 14:Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the 45th Foundation Day celebration of J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra’s School for Hearing Impaired in Jammu, where he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and empowerment of people with special abilities. Addressing the gathering, the LG said that inclusion is not merely a social obligation but the foundation of a prosperous, compassionate, and progressive society.
The event, attended by educators, students, parents, and social welfare representatives, showcased the achievements of children with hearing impairments who continue to excel in academics, arts, and vocational training. LG Sinha praised the relentless efforts of the Samaj Kalyan Kendra in promoting education, skill development, and self-reliance among differently-abled individuals.
Highlighting the government’s focus on inclusive policies, the Lt. Governor said that equal access to education, employment, and social participation is essential to ensure dignity and empowerment for all. He noted that Jammu and Kashmir is taking concrete steps to make schools, workplaces, and public infrastructure accessible and supportive for people with disabilities.
“Inclusion is the true measure of progress. Every individual, regardless of ability, deserves the right to learn, work, and live with dignity,” the LG stated, emphasizing the need to create more opportunities for specially-abled persons in both public and private sectors.
He also commended the educators and caregivers working tirelessly to uplift children with special needs, calling them “architects of change” in building an inclusive Jammu and Kashmir. LG Sinha further assured that the administration is committed to expanding welfare schemes, scholarships, and assistive technologies that enhance accessibility and independence for persons with disabilities.
The celebration concluded with cultural performances by students and the felicitation of educators who have made significant contributions to inclusive education. The event stood as a reminder that true empowerment begins with empathy, equality, and opportunity for all.
