AUG 29: In a proactive response to the recent floods, Minister Satish Sharma visited the worst-affected regions of the Chamb constituency to assess the damage firsthand and oversee relief operations. During his visit, the Minister met with displaced families and assured them of the government’s unwavering support throughout the recovery process.
He emphasized the urgent implementation of relief and rehabilitation measures, directing local officials to prioritize the establishment of temporary shelters, availability of clean drinking water, distribution of food supplies, and provision of medical aid. Ensuring the immediate safety and well-being of the affected population was declared a top priority.
Minister Sharma also called for a swift and thorough damage assessment to facilitate timely compensation for those who have suffered property and livelihood losses. He instructed the concerned departments to expedite the restoration of critical infrastructure, including roads, electricity, and water supply systems, which have been severely impacted by the floods.
Addressing the media, Sharma reaffirmed the government’s full commitment to supporting affected communities. “The government stands shoulder to shoulder with the people of Chamb in this difficult time. We will not rest until every displaced family is safely rehabilitated and normalcy is restored,” he stated.
