JUNE 18: In the run-up to the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna company under the Ministry of Coal, has launched an ambitious awareness campaign aimed at reaching over 25,000 individuals in the Singrauli region. The initiative, held from June 15 to 20, aligns with this year’s IDY theme: “One Earth, One Health”, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of human and planetary well-being.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the International Day of Yoga has grown into a worldwide movement, promoting health, mindfulness, and unity. NCL’s campaign is a reflection of this global spirit and seeks to deepen awareness about yoga’s physical, mental, and spiritual benefits within the local community.
NCL’s week-long initiative includes a series of engaging and inclusive programs designed to integrate yoga into everyday life. These include yoga awareness rallies, public sessions following the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), and interactive workshops in schools and colleges. The objective is to cultivate a culture of well-being that begins early and continues across all age groups.
Creative activities such as essay writing and poster making competitions have also been planned for students, allowing young minds to explore yoga’s role in fostering a healthy lifestyle and stronger communities. NCL aims to inspire individuals toward adopting yoga as a lifelong habit, thereby nurturing both personal and collective wellness.
In addition to community engagement, NCL is taking steps to embed yoga into its own work culture. Employees, contractual staff, and their families are being encouraged to participate actively in yoga sessions and related wellness activities, making health and mindfulness part of the corporate environment.
The campaign will culminate on June 21, 2025, with a grand Yoga Day celebration. More than 10,000 participants from NCL’s various areas and operational units will take part in synchronized yoga sessions, marking the culmination of the week’s activities.
NCL’s efforts underline its commitment to not just coal production, but also to community development, sustainable health, and environmental consciousness. Through this initiative, NCL continues to support the broader vision of a healthier, more connected world — One Earth, One Health.
