The high-level meeting focused on enhancing defence collaboration, regional security cooperation, maritime partnerships, and expanding mutual engagement under the comprehensive strategic partnership shared by both nations.

Officials said both sides reviewed ongoing defence engagements, military training initiatives, defence industry cooperation, and capacity-building programmes between the armed forces of the two countries.
The discussions also covered regional and global security developments, with emphasis on maintaining peace, stability, and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region.
India and Vietnam have steadily expanded defence cooperation over the years through joint exercises, naval visits, training exchanges, and defence dialogue mechanisms. The partnership has gained greater strategic importance amid evolving geopolitical dynamics in the Indo-Pacific.
Rajnath Singh reiterated India’s support for a free, open, inclusive, and rules-based Indo-Pacific, while emphasising the importance of respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.
