SEP 10: The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) conducted a Consultative Workshop on 9th September aimed at identifying critical reform measures across the social, welfare, and security sectors.

Chaired by Shri Anil Malik, Secretary, MoWCD, the workshop brought together senior delegations from States and Union Territories, fostering a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and policy innovation.

The discussions were anchored around key national missions, including:

  • Mission Saksham Anganwadi & Poshan 2.0 – with a focus on improving nutrition outcomes and enhancing Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) services.

  • Mission Shakti – aimed at strengthening women’s safety, empowerment, and security through integrated frameworks.

  • Mission Vatsalya – committed to the holistic development and protection of children, with special attention to vulnerable groups.

Participants engaged in in-depth deliberations on necessary legislative, policy, institutional, and process-based reforms, with the goal of improving last-mile service delivery and promoting inclusive, women and child-centric growth.

Secretaries from various States and UTs offered practical insights drawn from regional experiences, highlighting innovative approaches to convergence, community engagement, and accountability in service implementation.

The workshop reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to a “Women and Child First” approach, emphasizing collaborative governance and systemic reform. The event is part of an ongoing series of efforts by MoWCD to ensure that schemes like Poshan 2.0, Mission Shakti, and Vatsalya are adapted to meet ground realities and address emerging challenges.

This consultation marked a significant step in building responsive and resilient welfare systems, aligned with the Government’s vision of empowerment through inclusion.
