Tehsildar and Traffic Officials Lead Joint MVA Enforcement Drive in Jammu’s Miran Sahib

MARCH 25: A joint enforcement drive was conducted today by the District Administration at Indira Nagar, Miran Sahib, to ensure strict compliance with traffic rules and improve road safety in the area. The drive aimed to curb violations and enhance awareness among motorists regarding traffic laws and their responsibilities on the road.

The enforcement team at Indira Nagar included Tehsildar Jammu South Aarti Bhardwaj, ARTO FS. NHW Pawan Sharma, ARTO Mohammad Saleem, Motor Vehicle Inspector C.S. Billoria, and police personnel from the Police Post, Miran Sahib. During the operation, the team checked over 170 vehicles. As a result, 38 vehicles were issued e-challans for various traffic violations, with fines amounting to ₹1,38,500. In addition, six vehicles were seized due to serious infractions, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and maintaining road safety.

The enforcement drive also aimed at spreading awareness about road safety and the importance of following traffic laws. The team conducted on-the-spot awareness campaigns for motorists, including light motor vehicle drivers and passenger vehicle operators. These initiatives focused on educating drivers and the general public about the consequences of traffic violations and the importance of adhering to road safety protocols.

In a separate enforcement operation, a joint team was set up in the Akhnoor-Khour area. Nakas (checkpoints) were established at multiple locations to crack down on violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. The Akhnoor-Khour operation focused on the same goal of enhancing road safety and compliance with traffic laws. During this drive, approximately 350 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 65 e-challans being issued. The total fines expected from these e-challans amounted to ₹1,52,200. One vehicle was seized for major violations, highlighting the seriousness of the operation.

The enforcement team in the Akhnoor-Khour area was led by Tehsildar Khour Ranjit Singh, ARTO FS Bipen Singh Charak, MVI Azad Hussain, SHO Khour Neeraj, and MVTA Taranjot Singh, alongside police personnel from the region. This collaborative effort reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to ensuring safer roads and raising public awareness about traffic law compliance.

Both drives are part of the district administration’s broader efforts to improve road safety, reduce traffic violations, and educate citizens about their responsibilities behind the wheel. Through these operations, the administration continues to emphasize the importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
