Kupwara Shelling Relief Visit: LG Manoj Sinha Assures Quick Help and Safety Measures
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Kupwara to check the damage caused by recent shelling along the Line of Control (LoC). He met with families affected by the shelling and offered full support from the administration.
During the visit, the LG said that people living in border areas are not alone. The government stands with them in every situation. He also ordered fast construction of safety bunkers to protect civilians during future incidents.
“These bunkers will be built quickly to keep our people safe. We will not delay help when it is needed most,” LG Sinha said. He called the residents of Kupwara “real heroes” for staying strong during tough times.
A team of officials from the district was present during the visit. The LG asked them to act fast. They must check all damage and share reports for quick action. He also said that relief funds should be given without delay.
LG Sinha shared that a complete rehabilitation plan is being made with help from the Central Government. This plan will include money for damaged homes, better roads, healthcare, and education for border families. The goal is to bring long-term peace and progress to the region.
He also talked about the need for mental health support. Families facing regular shelling often suffer from stress and fear. The administration will send doctors and counselors to help them.
Local people welcomed the visit. Many said it gave them hope and made them feel heard. They also praised the government’s effort to listen and act quickly.
This visit shows the strong will of the government to protect and help border communities. The focus remains on safety, quick relief, and a better future.
