June 27: In a significant step toward empowering India’s youth through digital innovation, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched WhatsApp chatbot integration with the MY Bharat portal (https://mybharat.gov.in). This new feature enables seamless, real-time access to vital youth services and engagement tools directly from the WhatsApp platform, making public service delivery faster, easier, and more accessible.
The chatbot is accessible via WhatsApp number 7289001515, where users can start a session simply by sending ‘Hi’. After OTP-based authentication, youth can instantly explore a range of features such as Experiential Learning Programs, Volunteering Opportunities, CV Creation, Mentorship Access, Organizational Networking, Issue Reporting, and Support Services.
This mobile-first initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader digital outreach strategy, designed to bring government programs to the fingertips of young citizens across the country. With over 487 million smartphone users in India, integrating with WhatsApp—India’s most used messaging app—ensures maximum reach and engagement.
Future updates will bring even more utility, including in-app registrations, automated reminders, event media uploads, certificate deliveries, and real-time alerts on government schemes, campaigns, and youth-centric initiatives. The chatbot will also serve as a broadcast tool for success stories, best practices, toolkits, and compliance resources.
