JULY 18: Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla, speaking at the JITEM Youth Conclave 2025 organized by Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) in Gurugram on July 18, 2025, emphasized the importance of equipping India’s youth with proper guidance, technological resources, and supportive policies to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
He stressed that social organizations play a crucial role in shaping a balanced and inclusive society. Highlighting the concept of Antyodaya—uplifting the most marginalized—Shri Birla said ensuring no one is left behind is a shared responsibility. He praised the Jain community for their inspiring efforts in this regard, noting their dedication to ethical living and societal contribution.
Shri Birla underlined the enormous potential of India’s youth, not just in numbers but in passion, innovation, and nation-building. Today’s youth, he said, are not merely job seekers but are emerging as job creators through initiatives like Start-up India, Skill India, Make in India, and the Green Energy Mission, which have channeled their energy in constructive directions.
Describing JITO as more than just a business platform, Shri Birla said it is a convergence of trade, technology, innovation, and Jain values. He noted that JITO is setting an example through its economic, educational, and service-oriented initiatives, helping empower not just the Jain community but contributing significantly to India’s development.
He also highlighted the impact of the Jain community across multiple domains—business, social service, governance, science, and urban development—and their role in spreading peace, prosperity, and ethical practices globally.
On Indian democracy, Shri Birla remarked that it is deeply woven into the cultural and spiritual fabric of the nation. Despite doubts at the time of independence, India has proven that democracy can thrive in a diverse, populous society. He credited the nation’s culture of dialogue, collaboration, and collective will for its democratic success.
He concluded by urging youth to draw inspiration from India’s values while embracing innovation to help build a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking nation.
