AUG 25: Chief of Integrated Defence Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit will represent India at the Chiefs of Defence Conference 2025, scheduled to be held in Thailand from August 26 to 28, 2025. The high-level event is being jointly hosted by the United States Indo-Pacific Command and the Royal Thai Armed Forces.
The annual conference is recognized as a premier multilateral forum for Chiefs of Defence from across the Indo-Pacific region. It serves as a strategic platform to deliberate on emerging regional and global security challenges, foster military cooperation, and enhance interoperability among partner nations.
The 2025 edition of the conference is expected to place special emphasis on maritime security, counter-terrorism, cyber resilience, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and mechanisms for ensuring long-term stability in the Indo-Pacific. With rising geopolitical complexities in the region, the dialogue will seek to strengthen collective preparedness and cooperative frameworks among participating nations.
During his visit, Air Marshal Dixit will engage in bilateral and multilateral interactions with his counterparts from various countries. The discussions will focus on strategic partnerships, information sharing, and joint preparedness measures to address common security concerns, including non-traditional threats.
India’s participation reflects its steadfast commitment to a free, open, rules-based, and inclusive Indo-Pacific, while reinforcing its role as a reliable security partner in the region. The conference also underscores New Delhi’s emphasis on defence diplomacy, multilateralism, and regional collaboration in addressing complex security dynamics.
The Chiefs of Defence Conference is expected to yield new avenues for cooperation, enabling militaries of the Indo-Pacific to work more closely in promoting peace, stability, and resilience against emerging challenges. India’s proactive role at the forum reaffirms its vision of collective security and strategic trust-building in the region.
