SEP 18: The two-day National Workshop on “IT Solutions in the Ayush Sector” began in Kerala with Health Minister Smt. Veena George inaugurating the event at KTDC Waterscapes, Kumarakom, on 18 September 2025. Organized by the National Ayush Mission, Kerala, the workshop has drawn 155 participants from 23 States and Union Territories, including senior officials, policymakers, and technical experts.
In her address, Minister Veena George highlighted the need to balance tradition with innovation, stressing that digital tools must integrate seamlessly into the healthcare ecosystem to ensure affordable, accessible, and citizen-centric services. She called for a unified digital framework to strengthen the National Health Mission while maintaining Ayush values.
Delivering the keynote, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, underlined that adoption of digital solutions is no longer optional but essential. He emphasized initiatives like the Ayush Grid and new digital portals, which aim to standardize platforms, prevent duplication, and align with the National Digital Health Mission. These systems, he said, would enable real-time patient monitoring, data-driven governance, and equitable service delivery.
Additional Chief Secretary Rajan N. Khobragade praised Kerala’s achievements in digital health and urged states to collaborate in developing user-friendly, interoperable platforms. Other speakers, including senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush and various states, echoed the importance of IT-driven transparency, robust research, and citizen empowerment.
The workshop features live demonstrations of hospital management systems and sessions on patient care, program management, data and HR systems, and financial tracking. A two-day field visit will showcase Kerala’s innovative Ayush initiatives, including the Sports Ayurveda Project, Arogyanouka, and NABH-certified Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
The event marks a pivotal step in shaping a future-ready, digitally integrated Ayush ecosystem, combining India’s ancient wisdom with modern technology.
