SEP 27:In a significant step towards fostering regional collaboration, Mr. Deepak Bali, Advisor, Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board, Government of Punjab, called on the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir today. The meeting revolved around strengthening inter-state cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture, while also exploring the scope of joint initiatives between the two neighboring regions.

The discussions highlighted the immense potential that both Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir hold in promoting tourism through shared strategies and cultural exchange. With Punjab’s rich heritage and J&K’s unparalleled natural beauty, the collaboration is expected to open new avenues for tourism development, benefiting both states and the larger region.

The Chief Minister underlined that tourism is not just an economic driver but also a bridge for cultural understanding, and emphasized the importance of creating platforms that highlight the shared history, traditions, and festivals of the two regions.

Mr. Bali echoed these views, stressing on the need for joint promotional campaigns, heritage circuits, and cultural festivals that could draw national and international attention. He noted that cooperative efforts would not only enhance the visibility of both states but also provide unique experiences to tourists seeking diversity in heritage, spirituality, and adventure.

The meeting also explored possibilities of cross-border tourism packages, capacity-building programs, and exchange of expertise in heritage management, infrastructure development, and hospitality training. Both sides agreed that inter-state synergy can significantly strengthen India’s cultural tourism landscape, while also boosting local economies through employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The Chief Minister appreciated the proactive role of the Punjab Heritage & Tourism Promotion Board and assured that Jammu & Kashmir is committed to working closely with Punjab for joint initiatives. The dialogue concluded with optimism about building a sustainable partnership that celebrates cultural richness, promotes tourism, and strengthens people-to-people bonds between the two states.
