OCT 05: Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led the 43rd edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle in Delhi on World Teachers’ Day, inspiring citizens to embrace fitness as a way of life. The event, held at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, was simultaneously organised at over 10,500 locations across India, showcasing a nationwide commitment to health and wellness.

Over 1,000 participants, including teachers, athletes, and youth, joined the Delhi event. Olympian Abhishek Nain, chess Grandmaster Tania Sachdev, and javelin thrower Sachin Yadav were among the participants. The event featured yoga sessions, fitness games, and a vibrant nukkad natak dedicated to teachers.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mandaviya said, “If every citizen dedicates even an hour daily to physical activity, Bharat will march ahead stronger and healthier towards the dream of Viksit Bharat.” He likened cycling to life, stating, “We move forward only when we maintain balance — and that balance comes from fitness.”

Organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of India (CFI), Yogasana Bharat, and MY Bharat, the campaign has grown into one of India’s most impactful fitness movements. The event also saw the launch of the official anthem of Fit India Sundays on Cycle.

Since its inception, the initiative has reached over 1,00,000 locations and engaged 12 lakh participants nationwide. Dr. Mandaviya’s call for fitness, supported by educators and athletes alike, continues to drive India closer to the vision of a Fit and Viksit Bharat.
