OCT 13:In preparation for the upcoming 27-AC Bye-Elections, District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Bhat (IAS), chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the readiness of all arrangements across the district. The meeting focused on ensuring that the electoral process is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner, in line with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
The DEO informed that a total of 173 polling stations have been fully prepared to facilitate smooth polling operations. These stations have been equipped with all necessary logistics, including PWD-friendly facilities to ensure accessibility for differently-abled voters. Additionally, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been thoroughly tested and verified to guarantee their accuracy and reliability during the polling process.
Highlighting the administrative preparedness, Dr. Bhat stated that over 1.25 lakh voters are expected to cast their votes in the bye-elections. He emphasized the commitment of the district administration to provide a safe, inclusive, and transparent voting experience for every citizen. Special measures are also being taken to ensure proper law and order, security arrangements, and real-time monitoring on polling day.
The DEO appreciated the coordination between various departments, including police, health, and civil administration, in ensuring that all pre-election activities are completed on schedule. He also directed the officials to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and neutrality during the election process.
Public awareness campaigns are being carried out to educate voters about the importance of electoral participation and to encourage a strong voter turnout. The district administration has reiterated that every effort will be made to ensure the credibility and transparency of the upcoming bye-elections.
With meticulous planning and inter-departmental coordination, Budgam is fully prepared to conduct peaceful and well-organized polls that uphold the democratic spirit of Jammu and Kashmir.
