OCT 31: President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Rekha Gupta paid floral tributes to the ‘Iron Man of India,’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on his 150th birth anniversary at an event held in New Delhi.

The solemn ceremony marked the nation’s deep respect and gratitude toward Sardar Patel, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in uniting the country after Independence. Senior dignitaries, officials, and citizens participated in the tribute, reflecting on his enduring contribution to India’s unity, integrity, and administrative strength.

Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, in a post on X, expressed that the nation will remain forever indebted to Sardar Patel for his unmatched contribution to nation-building and for laying the foundation of a self-reliant India. He said that Sardar Patel’s determination, foresight, and tireless efforts shaped the modern Indian state and continue to inspire future generations.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, played a pivotal role in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union. His principles of unity, discipline, and strong governance remain guiding forces for the nation’s progress.

The commemoration of his 150th birth anniversary underlines his lasting legacy as a symbol of strength, national unity, and commitment to India’s development.
