20 May: A five-day Peace Education Programme aimed at promoting mental wellness, stress management, and emotional resilience among government employees has commenced in Rajouri.
The initiative is being organised by The Prem Rawat Foundation at the Dr. Raj Kumar Thappa Dak Bungalow in Rajouri, bringing together officials and employees from various government departments.
The programme focuses on helping participants manage workplace stress, maintain mental balance, and improve personal well-being while handling professional responsibilities in demanding administrative environments.
Officials said the sessions are designed to encourage positive thinking, emotional stability, and self-awareness among employees who often work under pressure and challenging public service conditions.
Participants attending the programme include district officers and staff members from multiple departments, reflecting growing institutional recognition of mental health and workplace wellness in public administration.
The organisers stated that the Peace Education Programme aims to provide practical guidance on handling stress, improving focus, strengthening emotional resilience, and developing a healthier work-life balance.
Mental wellness has increasingly become an important area of discussion within workplaces across both public and private sectors. Experts believe that stress management and emotional well-being directly influence productivity, decision-making, communication, and overall work efficiency.
Government employees, particularly those involved in field administration and public service delivery, often work in high-pressure environments requiring constant interaction with the public, emergency response systems, and administrative responsibilities.
In this context, programmes focused on mental wellness and positive engagement are being viewed as important support mechanisms for improving workplace environments and employee well-being.
According to organisers, the sessions include discussions and activities centred around peace of mind, self-reflection, resilience, and maintaining positivity in daily life.
Participants appreciated the initiative, noting that such programmes can help employees better manage professional stress while improving emotional health and interpersonal communication.
Officials associated with the programme said the initiative also encourages a culture of mental awareness and emotional support within government institutions.
The growing focus on mental health across workplaces reflects broader recognition that professional efficiency is closely connected with emotional and psychological well-being.
Experts have repeatedly emphasised that awareness programmes related to mental health, mindfulness, and stress management can contribute to healthier organisational cultures and more balanced professional environments.
The programme in Rajouri is expected to continue for five days, with interactive sessions and participation from employees representing different government departments.
Organisers expressed hope that the initiative would encourage greater awareness about mental wellness and help participants adopt healthier approaches toward professional and personal challenges.
