16 June: NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing next-generation infrastructure as a key pillar in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India). He emphasized that modern infrastructure is essential for accelerating economic growth, improving connectivity, and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
Addressing a gathering, the Prime Minister said India is witnessing an unprecedented transformation in infrastructure development, with significant investments being made in roads, railways, airports, ports, digital networks, and urban development projects. He noted that world-class infrastructure is laying the foundation for a stronger and more competitive economy.
Modi highlighted that infrastructure development is no longer limited to physical assets but also includes digital connectivity, logistics networks, smart cities, and sustainable energy systems. According to him, these advancements are helping create opportunities for businesses, improving public services, and boosting productivity across sectors.
The Prime Minister stated that initiatives such as high-speed transportation corridors, modern railway stations, enhanced airport facilities, and expanded digital infrastructure are contributing to India’s long-term development goals. He said the government is focused on creating infrastructure that meets future demands while ensuring sustainability and efficiency.
He also emphasized the role of technology in transforming infrastructure planning and execution. The adoption of digital tools, data-driven governance, and integrated planning mechanisms has helped improve project implementation and reduce delays, he added.
